Call for papers

The Italian Centre for International Development (ICID), The Italian Development Economists Association (SITES/IDEAS) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) are jointly organizing a conference on international development.

The Conference brings together the V SITES Annual Conference and the III ICID Annual Workshop in a unique event that will convene academics and development practitioners on issues related to international development. The Conference will also aim at identifying key information gaps relating to this theme, thereby helping to guide future research efforts.

Travel reimbursement
Partial or total travel reimbursements are possible only for the presenting authors. Funding opportunities are limited.
The formal request for reimbursement has to be submitted together with the paper by June 30, 2018.

The request should indicate whether travel or/and accommodation reimbursement is/are required and, for those requesting travel reimbursement, the departure location.

Registration fees
Presenting authors are requested to register at SItES - IDEAs. Fees are as follows

Faculty Members 60 Euro
PhD students and young post-doc 30 Euro

Fee waivers can be requested. The organizing committee will review the request and decide, based on the total number of request and the availability of funds.

The fee should be paid/the request for a waiver should be submitted no later than September 12th, 2018. Payment instructions will be provided jointly with the notification of acceptance.

Conference social dinner
Participants are invited to the Conference social dinner, on October 3rd, 2018.

The participation is voluntary and the cost will amount to 40 euro. Registration for the social dinner should be submitted no later than September 12th, 2018 and payment instructions will be provided jointly with the notification of acceptance.

PAPER SUBMISSION

We are calling for papers within the following topics

• Sustainable development, growth, poverty and inequality
• Food security, rural and agricultural development
• International and internal migration
• Human capital and labour market (Joint with AIEL - Italian Association of Labour Economics)
• Natural capital and wealth accounting
• Advances in impact evaluation and methodologies

Papers focussing on cross-cutting theme as climate change, youth and disability, are particularly encouraged.

Papers must be written in English and only completed ones will be accepted.

The first page of the paper should include

i) submission title

ii) author/s’ name/s and affiliation

iii) abstract (150 word max)

iv) JEL classification

v) detailed contact information (first and last name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address) of the corresponding author

All papers should be submitted in .pdf or .doc format to workshop2018@icid.info

All papers will be reviewed by a scientific committee

REGISTRATION

Participants and Presenting authors are requested to register at the conference

Conference Fees

    Faculty members 60 €
    Ph.D. students and young post-doc 30 €

The conference fees include participation in the conference, coffee break, lunch and certificate of attendance (upon request).

Social Dinner
Participants and presenting authors are invited to the conference social dinner on October 3rd, 2018. Additional Information will be provided by the organizing committee upon registration.
The participation is voluntary and the cost will amount to 40€.
